Alteya Organics sent me a bottle of their USDA certified organic Bulgarian rose water and I’m SO excited to finally try it out!! I’ve never used a rose water mist before but I’ve been hearing so many great things about it. I’ve heard it has almost as many benefits and uses as coconut oil and that it will totally change your skin once you start using it regularly. It came on time, BEAUTIFULLY packaged, looked exactly like the pictures online, and included a very thorough pamphlet all about the product and all of the other products Alteya Organics offers. I’ve been using this for about two weeks now and I’m absolutely loving it because it’s such a good finishing step in my skin care routine to add moisture to my skin. Sometimes (most times, honestly) I use really harsh cleansers, toners, and acne serums to combat oiliness and breakouts and they can leave my skin feeling pretty sensitive and stripped and this is really soothing and adds a good amount of moisture back into the skin.
The note in my package says it’s an award winning skin grade, steam distilled rose water that is USDA certified organic and made from fresh Bulgarian rose blossoms that have been harvested from their very own rose fields in the Bulgarian rose valley and that it took over 100 organic roses to produce the rose water in every bottle so that’s pretty amazing!! It seems very high quality, it even looks and feels luxurious and the the spray bottle has a very fine, even mist which I definitely appreciate!
As for the actual water, it doesn’t smell like artificial roses the way you might imagine. Have you ever had roses sitting in a vase for awhile? It smells exactly the way the water does when you throw away the flowers and dump it out in the sink. Almost like when you boil artichokes but not as strong. It’s a faint smell that only lasts a few seconds after you spray it and it’s not at all unpleasant, in my opinion. I’m totally in love with this rose water and I don’t think I’m ever going back to not using it! I’m hooked!
